MRAEF ProStart Bootcamp

Come join the MRAEF and some of Boston's top Chefs to prepare your team for the 2020 Massachusetts ProStart Invitational. Culinary and Management students will have hands on opportunities to improve skills needed to be successful at the ProStart Invitational.  Culinary teams will be required to provide their own burners/pots/knives.

Cost is $10/student (maximum of 10 students per school).

Culinary –
Session 1
– Appetizer
Chef:  Nick Hrynkiw

Session 2 – Entrée
Chef: TBD

Session 3 – Dessert
Chef: TBD
*Schools will be required to provide their own induction burners, pots, and knives.  The MRAEF will provide food product for the students to work with.

Management –
Session 1 -  will focus on presentation skills through improvisation.  Session will be led by Katelyn Miller, a south-coast theatre veteran
Session 2-  will be presented by the Director of Marketing for 110 Grill & Evviva Trattoria on creating new and innovative marketing techniques that go beyond social media.
Session 3- will break down the tedious task of costing for your restaurant. Costing breakdown will be based on the 2019 National ProStart Invitational rules.

Educators –
Session 1 – will focus on the rules for the 2020 MA ProStart Invitational.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback from the 2020 head judges.
Session 2 – Will look at past winning menus and management books to see what makes a winning idea.
Session 3 – Fun time! Educators will get to play while the students work!
